Stay healthy, enjoy a long lifestyle of running. Personal: IN THE BEGINNING....
I have enjoyed running even in elementary school... I still have my cardboard Bronze medal from the Mini-Olympics Marathon! I officially started competitive running in 1988, Jr High School and ran throughout high school, making varsity and lettering each year. I never missed a practice in Track or Cross Country in the four years of high school.
MARATHON HISTORY
* 1997-1998, my first marathon was local and I trained (off the couch) for one month, 8 runs, with 10 miles being my longest run, ran twice. My time was an excruciating 4:12. Ouch is all I can say about that. 6 months later a 3:30 at Portland. One year later a 3:13:46 at Boston, one week later a local marathon at 3:20, and one week after that a 3:14:46 in Coeur de Alene, ID. I then went to Boise State University and took time off since nursing school wanted my heart and soul.
* 2005 I started training with the Greater Boise Running Club under Coach Dilley. I ran Chicago in 3:04.
* 2006, I quit running under Coach Dilley in the summer and in December I ran my PR of 2:49:33 at California International training completely alone.
* 2007, I suffered with plantar faciitis having a difficult time with summer training and ran Cal International with a headwind in 2:55.
* 2008 I took a RRCA coaches training class in Portland and was signed up for the 5 mile during the Portland Marathon but decided the day before to run the marathon, 2:58, my first negative split marathon.
* 2009 has been the year of merely maintaining due to extreme life stressors and life changes. I ran a local May marathon in 3:08 and a month later Utah Valley in 3:07. I attempted Top of Utah after a week prior pulling my soleus and enduring my first DNF ever. This has been a year full of personal challenges, to say the least, which has effected my training and fitness.
PERSONAL STUFF
* Currently I am a part time Massage Therapist since 1997 and a full-time Neuroscience Nurse since 2003, working 13 hour shifts on my feet.
*In November 2006 until February 2009, I opened up an office where I did Sports Massage, Nutrition Counseling, and Personal Training while working 24-30 hours per week at the hospital. My hope was to wean myself from pounding concrete at the hospital for 13 hour shifts to decrease my chances of chronic plantar fasciitis.
* I do not have children except for my four-legged toddler. Buddy.
* I am excited to get back into a consitent training regimen and build up to a competitive level again. Favorite Blogs: |
